Amber N. Smith

Amber N. Smith is an attorney with the Law Office of Gerald Gilliard, a law firm concentrating in representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination suits, civil rights actions, whistleblower cases, False Claims Act qui tam actions, security clearance revocations, suits over failure to accommodate under the Americans with Disabilities Act and its federal counterpart, the Rehabilitation Act, and cases involving similarly unlawful actions by the federal government.

Ms. Smith is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and a licensed to practice in the state of New York and eligible to waive into the Washington, DC Bar. Amber has a B.A. in Political Science and minor in Philosophy from the University of Georgia. As a new attorney, Amber has had the opportunity to practice plaintiff’s side employment law, specifically, on wrongful termination suits, unfair bargaining issues, and unfair labor practice issues for law firms and a union.  Ms. Smith also clerked in both the Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn, New York and the Court of Common Pleas in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Through her work with attorney Gerald Gilliard in federal sector employment law, Ms. Smith is well-versed in guidelines and procedures of the EEOC and MSPB.
